Feb 16 -- Field Trip to US Synthetic
Feb 20 -- No school- President's Day
Feb 21 -- Famous American Report Due
Feb 22&23 -- Parent Teacher Conferences

 "Famous American" Report will be due in less than 3 weeks. This report can be about a President, an American Inventor, or some other notable American.

On Monday Afternoon Ski Days, I will be at Sundance on the slopes. Can't wait to see you there!

Another great week ahead. Here's our plan of learning:
Math
:  Problems sets each day. 
 Social Studies: Finishing Chapter 8: Middle States. Study guide will come home Tuesday. Study for test on Thursday.
Spelling: Unit 19- "AR" words.
Memorization: No memorization this week.
Science: Review and test on Friday this week. Levels of Organisms, Causes of extinction, energy pyramids.
Grammar: Adverbs and Adjectives begin this week. Gladly!
Composition: "Picture This" Compositions. In class, we will select a picture and then write a narrative to accompany the picture.
Leadership: Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind. We're talking about goals and long term planning.

Famous American Report Guidelines

Each Report is Due Tuesday, February 21, 2012.

Each report must contain:

ü  Title Page: Name of your Famous American centered on your page. Your name should appear in small writing centered near the bottom.

ü  2 full pages (12 font) double spaced report containing the following information:

o   Name of the Famous American

o   Where the person is from (Where were they born? Where did they grow up?)

o   What kind of education did this person have?

o   What are important dates in this person’s life?

o   Who are important people in this person’s life?

o   What did they do that is notable?

o   Tell in detail, what makes this person famous.

 

ü  1 page of an illustration (or illustrations) of the item invented

Bibliography: This just needs to be a simple list of sources used. If you found the information on the Internet, please list the site you used.
